Strategic Reading 8 incorporated science into their Harry Potter lesson today, learning how to be "Potion Masters" of their own. A huge thanks to Mrs. Rose for all her materials, ideas, and help in making this lesson happen!
The High School Art Department at West Side High School is hosting a Soup Night this Thursday, February 12th, during the Parent Teacher Conferences to raise money to fight hunger & food scarcity. For a $10 donation, our supporters will receive a bowl of soup, crackers or cornbread and a bottle of water. All profits raised through this project stays in our community and goes to help students and their families here at West Side.
Anyone wishing to donate money but not wanting soup or pottery may send the donation to the school labeled "Attention: Mrs Caples, for Empty Bowls Project," who added, "I love how this community comes together for each other."

Miss Jessie's 4th grade science students have been learning all about the rock cycle, weathering, erosion, and deposition. They have done a starburst lab to model the rock cycle, used sugar cubes to model weathering and erosion, and used salt blocks to observe how dripping water is an example of erosion and weathering. #UnlockingGreatness
