Mrs. Franzen's 7th grade science students completed an Oreo Mitosis activity where they made the stages of the cell cycle using sprinkles and oreos.





West Side students with instructor, Randy Carr, are headed to Hot Springs. They will begin competition tomorrow at SkillsUSA state. Best of luck to our Eagles!


The home softball Varsity and JV games originally scheduled today against Norfork have been moved to Friday, April 22.

Archie, a therapy dog, from Arch Ford visited with students in 3rd-6th grade recently.





Just a reminder that Spring pictures and Spring sports photos will be taken tomorrow at West Side. All elementary students will be photographed, and those not ordering tomorrow should receive a second-chance proof later.

K-1 students are preparing for their upcoming Spring Concert in Mr. Water's class. We hope to see you on Sunday, April 24th as the students show off their talents!

The April 18 Varsity and JV games @ Norfork scheduled on April 18 have been moved to Friday, April 22. The April 22 baseball game, previously scheduled against Pangburn, has been canceled.

West Side 5th & 6th graders had an assembly recently for Takedown Tobacco Day. Kimberly Sims. the Tobacco Education Coordinator for Crowley’s Ridge Development Council (CRDC), along with a RAAD representative shared facts about making healthy choices and the negative effects of smoking and vaping.





West Side K-2 students learned about severe weather and natural disaster safety from OEM Director, Greg Carr.





Today’s softball game against Rural Special will be a home double-header.

Mrs. Hutson's Economics students are having some fun with "The Trade Game!" Students see an economic principle in action: Voluntary trade creates wealth.

Out of over 400 submissions, Fifth Grader, Caleb Barden's work has been accepted into the 61st annual Young Arkansas Artist Exhibition. The award ceremony will be available on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM on the AMFA’s YouTube Channel.



Mrs. Franzen's after school STEM kids have begun construction on their UV sterilization box! She applied for the STEM activity through UCA who gave them the supplies to build the box. The job of the STEM team is to build the box, test the effectiveness, create a poster, then present it at UCA in May.



The artwork of West Side students Bella Dewberry and Brody Henderson's artwork is featured in a virtual art show at https://yaa.arkmfa.org/60-gallery/ as part of the 60th Young Arkansas Artist Exhibition. The artwork also hangs temporarily at Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
