The annual Greers Ferry Fishing Derby for kids 4 and up will be held from 9 am to noon Sat 4/5.
Ella Carlton, Abigail Gomez, Madison Gomez and Kylie Sasaki competed in the Floriculture contest at the ASU Beebe Cream of the Crop contest. Kylie placed 2nd high individual and the team placed 6th. Way to go girls!

West Side Agriculture Education Program is proud to announce Logan Fife is officially a certified veterinary assistant! He passed the certification test and will be receiving his credentials soon. Vet Assistants are the third member of a successful animal health-care team below the vet technician and the veterinarian.
Logan plans to continue his education by attending college for the next level of certification needed to then become a veterinary technician.
There will be a meeting at 10 am Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the West Side District Boardroom, 7295 Greers Ferry Road, in Greers Ferry for parents of Private School/Home School students who reside in the district. The meeting will be to provide information about proportionate share of Special Education services to eligible Private School/Home School students. West Side FFA is proud of member Laiden Lindsey who has been chosen to be in The Teen Program at the Little Rock Zoo. Laiden filled out an application, wrote an essay and interviewed for the position. He will be attending a 3 week camp this summer and then will continue to volunteer on a regular basis for year round activities at the zoo. As part of the program Laiden will learn about different aspects of the Zoo, wildlife conservation efforts and conservation education. He will then help zoo staff provide engaging experiences that inspire people to value and conserve our natural world.
