We want to congratulate Coach Keith Brown on being selected as the 1A Athletic Director of the year! We are so proud of you and all of the work you do for our athletes and students at WSHS! Coach Brown will be honored at the Spring annual meeting of the Arkansas Activities Association on Wednesday, March 8th. Congratulations!!!
On late-start Wednesday, if your child doesn't arrive at school at the normal start time, please drop off your child(dren) between 8:35 and 8:45 am. This will help the school district to monitor the drop-off and safety of our students.

We will soon be requesting your help as we collect data about our school’s culture. The culture of a school includes its rules, values, and traditions. It is also linked to the relationships among staff members and between staff and students. School culture plays an important role in the school and in helping students reach their full potential. When you see the school culture survey in the next few weeks, we encourage you to provide honest, thoughtful responses to the questions as we work to improve our school for your learners.
The West Side Elementary EAST students recently visited Indian Rock Village Retirement Home where they met many of the residents and taught them useful apps to use on their cellphones. One resident learned how to use Facebook to connect with family and friends she has not heard from in years. She is pictured with the students who helped her.

The scheduled performance of the K-2 Little Dribblers will not take place during tonight's basketball games. Instead, they are scheduled next on Friday, Jan. 13, at Brady-Hipp Arena.

Report cards will be sent home Thursday. Parents, please review grades and attendance with your child and set goals for the coming semester. Grade 7-11 students will take home a Family Report with NWEA MAP test results. Grade K-6 families will receive those in February. The junior girls basketball team will also be going to play at Sacred Heart Tuesday evening. All four teams will play starting with junior girls at 4:00 p.m. The bus will leave school at 2:15 p.m.
