The West Side eSports Mario Kart team raced to the front of the pack and never looked back, beating Parkview to open play in the AAA state playoffs on Monday. No. 6 West Side earned the first Mario Kart playoff win in program history by downing 11th-seeded Parview in straight sets, 2-0. It also marked the first time in program history that West Side teams won two playoff games in the same season. The West Side eSports Super Smash Bros. team opened the playoffs in style on Monday, upsetting Bryant to advance to the round of 32 in the AAA state tournament. No. 18 Bryant seemed to be the favorite going in, but ran into a buzzsaw, as the 47th-seeded Eagles dominated, 3-0 sets, 6-1 games.
