Thank you to Channer Smith, Mr. Waters and his Eagle Choir, Girl Scout Troop #3577, and West Side GT students for honoring our local Veterans on Friday night. Everyone involved did a fantastic job of celebrating our men and women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces.

Several Seniors and Juniors attended the Trades Around The Lake Career Fair at the Heber Springs Community Center. This is an opportunity for local businesses to engage with students and showcase the career opportunities around the Greers Ferry lake area.

West Side Picture Retake Day is tomorrow (Friday). Some fall sports photos will also be taken. Due to some coaches and players being out tomorrow, boys basketball, cheer team and both golf teams will not be photographed. Those teams will be photographed in the spring. Fall sports pictures being taken tomorrow include: girls basketball, tennis and cross country. Order forms were sent home earlier in the week and there is a digital version attached to this post.


Because of homecoming, the order of games has changed tonight at Norfork. Jr Girls tipoff at 5 pm, followed by Sr Boys before the Sr Girls game.


Courtesy of their win over Searcy High School on Tuesday, the West Side eSports Splatoon 3 team has qualified for the Arkansas Region Playoffs. The Ink Raiders (Kolby Lockard, Caleb Cross, Maggie Ott, Emily Clark) will open postseason play on November 27.


The Grade 5-7 Eagle Choir will be guest performers at the Thankful for Family and Friends Gospel Concert at Lyon College in Batesville. The public is invited to attend the concert, which begins at 3 pm Saturday at Sloan Auditorium.

Congratulations to Gabe Samis for being selected as Star Student in Miss Jessie's 4th grade! Gabe was selected because he demonstrated responsibility in the classroom for the month of October. Keep up the good work, Gabe!


Don't forget that West Side will have a Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10th at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The hits keep coming for West Side eSports as the Splatoon 3 team defeated Searcy High School, 3-0, on Tuesday. Pictured, left to right, Maggie Ott, Caleb Cross, Emily Clark and Kolby Lockard.


The West Side eSports Mario Kart team has earned a No. 6 overall ranking in the latest AAA standings, the highest ranking ever achieved in the school's short program history. The "Turtle Tyrants" are 5-1 and face a huge match Thursday against No. 7-ranked Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (Hot Springs).
West Side is powered by starters Kolby Lockard, Jordan Ragsdale, Caleb Cross and Maggie Ott, but has received big contributions from bench players like William Cantafio and Elijah Strain.
The Arkansas AAA Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe League is made up of 59 teams and there are no classifications based on school size.


The Book Fair is at West Side this week! Students can shop during school this week and parents can stop by today until 5 pm!
