It was a tough start to the fall season for West Side eSports as the Super Smash Bros. team fell to Bauxite, 1-3, the Mario Kart team lost to West Fork 0-2, and the Fortnite Duos team was defeated by Walnut Ridge, 0-2. After graduating an outstanding group of seniors last spring, eSports is rebuilding with mostly underclassmen who are competing hard and getting better by the day!

Peggy Davidson, affectionately known as “Mrs. Peggy” by her students and colleagues, has been teaching for 44 years. Of those years, 43 of them have been spent at the West Side School District. Davidson says that West Side holds a special place in her heart. “West Side is home,” Davidson says. “I started at West Side at age 6 and have continued off and on throughout the years.” Davidson has taught first, second, and third grade. Her advice to other teachers is to learn to love every part of the job. “Have a passion for teaching and a desire for students to succeed,” Davidson says. “Realize that students learn in different ways and at different times. Many times you have to play other roles other than just a teacher.”
