Lake Area Sports is approved for an Internet Stream broadcast of 1A State Baseball Tournament games, and EAB of Morrilton is approved to broadcast on radio, although their coverage may be limited to Nemo Vista and Wonderview baseball and softball games.
Large crowds, beautiful weather, and great athleticism are expected on Thursday's opening day of the 1A State Softball and Baseball Tournament hosted by West Side. On Thursday only, games will be played at both the Heber Springs Sports Complex and the West Side Sports Complex. "Field 2" games are in Heber Springs. West Side 1st graders became published authors this year through a project Mrs. Traci led that required the cooperation of several others at school. Students had an author's reading and signing day for their families for the special event. Congratulations!

West Side's baseball team advanced to tomorrow's Regional Final after defeating Hillcrest, 10-9, in a wild game in which they were behind most of the time. They play Armorel at 2:30 pm to determine the No. 1 seed headed into next week's State Tournament, hosted by West Side.
West Side's softball team lost today in the Regional semifinals, 10-0, to Shirley. They play at noon tomorrow at Marked Tree in a game to determine the No. 3 in next week's state tournament, hosted by West Side.
West Side's conference fared well in yesterday's Regional Tournament at Marked Tree. The four Conference 1A-2 teams beat the four Conference 1A-3 teams by 10 runs or more. All four of the 1A-2 teams will represent Region 2 at West Side in the State Tournament next week.
