5th and 6th grade students have been learning about the US election and putting it into practice by voting a class pet for president! So far they have registered to vote, campaigned for their top candidates, and participated in a primary election for the two "parties" to narrow their choice of president and vice president. In the running for the general election is Toothless the bearded dragon representing the "Reptilian Party" with his running mate Severus the snake, and Frank the frog representing the "Aquatic Party" with his running mate Bubbles the glofish. We have had a lot of fun learning about the democratic process and the importance of voting!

Students enjoyed a fun Halloween-themed lab activity today, igniting magnesium to observe the bright chemical reaction, determining the density of several unknown chemicals, building structures to withstand mass, and combining chemicals to form a bubbly reaction. 🧪👩🏼‍🔬⚙️

Today's messages for high school students during Red Ribbon Week are to avoid unhealthy relationships and to stay involved in school activities, which can foster a sense of self-worth. Low self-esteem leads makes teenagers more susceptible to try drugs and withdraw from friends.
