ELEPHANT BUS ROUTE CHANGE
Attention riders of the Elephant Bus, driven by Mr. Hardin … The times of both the morning and afternoon routes \will be significantly different for some riders. On the morning route, Mr. Hardin will begin in Higden with the first stop at 6:50 a.m. He will continue through Greers Ferry, past the Edgemont Bridge and turn around at the former KFFB Radio location near 7:15. From there, the bus will work its way to campus. The afternoon route will leave campus for the former KFFB location and end in Higden. For Tuesday’s first day of school, morning riders will need to approximate the time along the new route and arrive early at your designated bus stop. A community health fair will be combined with Elementary and High School Open House for students and parents from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The health fair, which includes a blood mobile, will take place in the cafetorium. High School students may pick up schedules in the lobby of Gathright Gym. For more information, call (501) 825-6258.
A special Orientation for 7th Graders and parents is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6.
All High School students in Grades 7-12 are invited to Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 8. Students will be able to pick up class schedules, meet teachers in their classrooms, and visit lockers in advance of the first day of classes.

Hey folks, just a reminder the WSSD Board in support of our awesome ECP has voted to waive the tuition fee for the non-ABC funded positions for the 19-20 School Year and to increase the number of non-ABC funded student positions. In order to be eligible to apply for either the ABC and non-ABC funded positions, families must live in the school district and the student must be 3 or 4 years old on or before August 1, 2019. Applications may be picked up in the elementary office. Staff will be available to accept completed applications on July 29 from 5:30-6:30 for your convenience. All required documentation must be completed including the proof of income. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Thanks! Mr. Long

Desks Available … West Side High School has eight heavy-duty desks available — free for the taking for one or all. The desks have a tilt-top, although most of them need repair for the desktop to remain propped up. They are available for inspection from 9-3 p.m. daily. The West Side District Wellness Committee will be hosting a community-wide health fair in the cafeteria on Thursday, August 8th from 5:30-7:30 pm. There will be many informational booths along with some booths providing free medical screens. This is a wonderful time to find out about different community resources!
