How many years have you been teaching/in education? 19 years.
Where did you graduate high school? West Side High School.
Why did you become a teacher? I like working with kids and making a difference. I believe it's one of the biggest ways to affect the future.
What is your favorite part of teaching at West Side High School? I like the small school setting. It's nice to know the parents and to teach the siblings of kids I've had before. It's that sense of familiarity.
What is your favorite characteristic in your students? Probably the excitement they have when they learn something new.
What are your hobbies outside of school? Reading, writing, attending my kids' sporting events, and traveling.
Who is your biggest role model and why? I would say Mrs. Sandy Smith. I spent a lot of time shadowing her. I loved how she made learning fun for the kids.
Question of student choice: What would you do if you weren't a teacher? I would be a Travel Journalist, because you can see cool places, do fun things, and eat yummy food.
