Parents, students in Grades 7-10 will be taking interim ACT Aspire assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday to gauge academic progress. Students should bring a charged Chromebook and the charger. Juniors and Seniors will be doing post-high school activities. #EagleSpirit #WatchUsSoar
While students in Grades 7-10 will be taking interim ACT Aspire tests on Tuesday and Wednesday, special plans have been made for juniors and seniors.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Cornett, counselor, has “adulting” activities planned for these students including how to change a tire and check oil in a vehicle, the dangers of credit cards, what to do if getting pulled over by a policeman, and an overview of taxes.
On Wednesday, Ms. Rousseau, career coach, will be working with juniors and seniors on a high school resume and interviewing skills. Fun games have been planned as well!

During tomorrow night's game against Shirley, there will be a contest for students with the most positive school spirit. At the end of each half of each game, a WS Jr. & Sr. high student will be selected to win a meal voucher (courtesy of the Athletic Dept.)

Friday is semester exam makeup day at WSHS. Only students whose parents have made arrangements to make up exams on this day may attend.
4th-6th Grade Chess Club competed at Clinton this week. Keaton Majors won runner-up for 5th grade!
Thursday is semester exam day for even periods at WSHS. Student should attend only as necessary. Thursday, 8 – 9:15, 2nd period exam; 10:40 – 11:55, 4th period exam; and 12:40 – 1:55 8th period exam.

On January 10, we will be unveiling the 2019 Girls Golf State Champion Banners during halftime of the Sr. Boys Game.

The nurse is sending home letters this week and next for students that need vaccines before we come back from Christmas break. If your student has not had a vaccine since they've turned 16 years old, then they will need the required second dose of the meningitis vaccine. WS Basketball games, scheduled for Friday, 12/13, will be cancelled due to the Sr. Girls participation in the semifinals of the Lyon College Tournament.
The WSGF Senior Basketball teams will travel to Lake Hamilton on January 2 to play in the Kameron Hale Invitational. Brackets are posted below.
The Senior High Basketball Teams will play in the Pangburn Classic on December 19 and 20.
On December 19, the Senior girls will play Tuckerman at 6:30. The senior boys will play Pulaski Co. Homeschool at 7:45.
On Friday, December 20, the Senior girls will play Star City at 3:30. The Senior boys will play Bergman at 4:40.
