Mrs. Shanda has worked in the West Side cafeteria for ten years. When she isn't here cooking for us, she enjoys being with her family and friends, playing games, and shopping. Thank you for all you do for us, Shanda!

Mr. Hunter's 8th Grade math class recently worked on proportional relationships and drew the Empire State Building to different scaled sizes.




Employee Spotlight: WHITNEY STEVENS
While this is Mrs. Whitney's first year to teach at West Side, she is no stranger to the district! She is a former West Side student who now teaches first grade. She enjoys spending time with her family riding side-by-sides, playing sports, and just being together!


STAR STUDENT - BRAYCEN CARLTON
Mrs. Jennifer's star student in second grade was Braycen Carlton. He received a certificate and goody bag for demonstrating what being a good citizen means. Way to go, Braycen!

West Side SOAR students tried their hand at cooking grilled cheese sandwiches this week. Looks yummy, guys! SOAR is an after school program for students in 3rd-8th grade.





STAR STUDENT - BLAKE WILKERSON
Blake was selected as the star student in Mrs. Debbie's 6th grade for the month of November. He received a certificate and goody bag from SRO Donald Crispell for his demonstration of what being a good citizen means.


FCCLA members recently had an after school paint party. Such talented kids!

STAR STUDENT - CAREY BUNTON
Carey was selected as the star student in Mrs Wanda's fourth grade class! She was selected because she demonstrated citizenship while at school. SRO Crispell presented Carey with a goody bag and award.


SOAR kids enjoyed eating their grilled cheese sandwiches more than making them!





WSHS Parents, Friday is an attendance day, but some students may qualify for remote learning and be able to work virtually from home. Students who do not have an Internet connection must attend campus.
Student have taken a gold-colored paper home for a parent signature. The paper indicates whether the student is eligible to work from home on Friday. Students required to be on campus must attend the entire day or will be given a partial absence.
Whether at home or on campus Friday, students must complete assignments in all courses by 3:08 p.m. Friday's virtual students will be counted absent if not submitting work by the deadline.

K-2 students are learning about primary, secondary, and tertiary colors this week in Mrs. Teresa's enrichment class. Allison and Isla are having fun mixing colors!



Employee Spotlight: BRENDA GROGAN
Mrs. Grogan has been a math teacher at West Side High School for three years. She enjoys trout fishing, cooking, and playing with her dog, Ellie when she isn't teaching our kids about the pythagorean theorem and transformations!


STAR STUDENT - BRINLEY BROWN
Brinley Brown is the star student in Mrs. Tabatha's kindergarten class for November. The character word for the month was citizenship, and Brinley received a goody bag and certificate from Officer Donald for being a good citizen.


STAR STUDENT - KLARA PIPKIN
Officer Donald presented Klara with the star student award for citizenship in Mrs. Renee's 3rd grade class. She received an award and a goody bag. Keep up the good work, Klara!


STAR STUDENT - MADISYN GRAHAM
Mrs. Sonjia's second star for the month of November was Madisyn Graham. She demonstrated what it means to be a good citizen in her classroom and received a certificate and goody bag for her behavior. Good job, Madisyn!
