If you cannot join us in Hot Springs for the 1A State basketball tournament, you can view the game on Arkansas PBS television.
If enough Grade 7-12 students sign up, West Side will take a pep bus to the Class 1A State Basketball Championship Game. However, students should not purchase tickets until the school determines if there is enough interest.
West Side plays Viola in the finals at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18. The pep bus will leave at 3:15 p.m. and should return to campus about midnight.
Pep bus forms are available to students in the high school office. The form is due in the high school office by noon Wednesday, signed by student and parent.

Mrs. Robin's 6th grade recently started a unit on Human Impacts on the environment. As a part of the unit we learned about offshore drilling and how oil spills can happen. Students then conducted a STEM activity about cleaning up after oil spills occur. Their mission was to clean oil off of bird feathers and remove the oil from the water.

West Side Elementary recently received 24 rod and reels, hooks, bobbers, and curriculum from the Arkansas Game & Fish FINS program. FINS stands for Fishing in the Natural State.
7 of 8 teams in the Class 1A State semis come from conference 1A-2. Nevada is in 1A-8.
