Ashton Klepko and Kamryn Sutterfield have been selected as West Side High School's recipients for the 2021 Governor's Scholastic Honors Day! This is an annual event that highlights academic achievement throughout the state. Two seniors from each high school are chosen who best represent excellent academic achievement. Congratulations to both of you on your success!

West Side 6th graders recently visited with Mr. Mark Lewis and some of his band students to see what high school band is like and ask any questions that had about the program.

STAR STUDENT: JO MAEZ
SRO Crispell present a certificate and goodie-filled water bottle to Jo Maez for demonstrating respect in the classroom. Jo is in Mrs. Polly's 1st grade. Congratulations, Jo!

The West Side Eagles defeated Bradford 20-3 earlier this week on the road. They also picked up a win against Junction City (12-2) at home on Thursday. District Tournament begins April 28th at West Side.





The Lady Eagles have had a busy week in softball action. Their only loss for the week was 2-4 against ICC on the road. They have won three other conference games: Concord (4-2) Shirley (5-0) and Norfork with a forfeit. The ladies are 11-2 for the season in conference play with only one remaining game left before district next week.





West Side boys also competed in the Jr High District Track meet at Mountain Home. Keegan Towell finished 1st in the long jump, 100 meter, and 200 meter dash. Ashton Nolley finished 3rd in the long jump, 4th in the triple jump, 3rd in the 100 meter and 4th in the 200 meter. Bryant Brown finished 3rd in the triple jump and Channer Smith brought home 3rd in discus throw and 5th in the 400 meter. The boys placed 4th in the relay and 4th overall. Several other Eagles placed in the top 10 of their events. Congratulations on a job well done!





West Side Jr High Girls District Track Meet was held at Mountain Home on Wednesday. Mandy Smith placed 5th in the 200 meter and 4th in the shot put. Kadence Dilks finished 2nd in the 1600 meter. Katie Davis finished 4th in the 400 meter, 2nd in the triple jump, and 5th in the long jump. The girls also finished 4th in the relay with several others finishing in the top 10 of their events. Great job ladies!





West Side juniors & seniors recently participated in a CPR and AED certification class.

Mrs. Teresa's 3rd-6th Grade GT students visited the Little Rock Zoo this week in conjunction with their Renew the Zoo unit. The chimpanzees were favorites of all the kids!

Tanner is the son of Toby & Jennifer Fife and has a .463 career on-base average. He has pitched in 10 innings and has struck out 10 batters in those. Congratulations, Tanner on your success!
