West Side’s senior girls defeated Maynard today to earn a berth in the state tournament and advance to the Class 1A Region 2 semifinals at 7 pm Monday at Hillcrest vs. Mammoth Spring. The boys play Calico Rock at 5:15 pm Monday.

We will be taking a pep bus Sunday for the SG game. Any 7th-12th grade students wishing to ride need to be in front of the HS by 1:45 pm. Tickets must be purchased online through the GoFan app or gofan.co website. Proof of purchase must be shown before loading the bus.

The gym for basketball regionals is past Hillcrest high school. The address is 180 School St, Powhatan. It is located in the campus of their elementary school. We apologize for any confusion.

West Side Sr High GT students recently visited Harding University in Searcy for a college visit. Students met with department heads, toured campus, and ate lunch in the cafeteria to see what it's like to a Bison.

School is dismissing buses 11:00 a.m. today due to inclement weather. The Eagle Bus will be running the Frosty Route schedule.

UPDATE: The Elementary Enrichment Night scheduled for February 28th has been moved to Monday, March 7th from 5:30-6:30.

The Regional Tournament has been postponed a day. Our SB will now play on Thursday and our SG will now play on Friday.

Mr. Caleb's 5th graders reviewed for their American Revolution Test with an olde time tea party! They had a special guest and long-time West Side teacher Mrs. Sandy Smith visit and share a fantastic presentation from her trip to England and even her love of hot tea. It was so much fun!

The character word for the month was integrity, and Delaney does an excellent job of showing others what that means. She received a water bottle and certificate for her great character! Mr. Ramsey's Physical Science students recently completed labs on Archimedes' and Bernoulli's Principle. Mandy Smith is shown conducting the What Floats Your Boat lab and Max Gipson and CJ Parks are demonstrating Bernoulli's Principle with paper airplanes.

Elementary parents, please look for AMI Day 6 and Day 7 packets, which will go home with students today. Please keep the packets at home in a memorable place in case they are needed later.
