
The annual West Side School District public meeting will be held at 5 pm today, followed by the regular monthly board meeting at 6 pm. The public is invited to attend.



The Elementary EAST students have been hard at work cleaning up the courtyard this fall.

We had a terrible time during testing with WIFI connectivity causing every student to have to shut down and restart their Chromebook and log in again anywhere from 3-12 times each. All of my student handled the situation with grace and patience, stayed focused on their task, and had no behavior issues - in spite of all the frustration. (Mrs. Caples)

West Side High School sponsored another successful College and Career Day on Friday, October 13th. Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to visit with post-secondary schools, military representatives, and area businesses about the opportunities that awaited them after graduation. We would like to thank all of the following participants in this day!


Miss Jessie's 4th graders are working to construct homes to withstand an earthquake in the elementary science lab.


Max Gipson, the top Class 1A boys golfer, took medalist honors in the State Overall Golf Match in a today against Arkansas' best players in at Pleasant Valley Country Club. He shot a 68 (-3)! Max's 3-under 68 didn't clinch things after 18 holes -- it took two playoff holes! Congratulations, Max!


West Side High School's Fall Festival with family fun for the whole family -- haunted house, food, silent auction, raffle prizes, and more! -- will be 5-8 p.m. Fri 10/13. Most of the proceeds go to the junior class with other classes and clubs also benefitting.


There will be no school on Friday, October 20th.


West Side will celebrate Red Ribbon Week Oct. 30th-Nov. 3rd. Students are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items to donate to our local food pantry, and we will have a variety of events planned throughout the week. Dress up days are as follows: Monday - Wear Red, Tuesday - Halloween/Fall Attire, Wednesday - Team Spirit, Thursday - Neon, Friday - Pink Out.

The West Side Eagles' season opener against Mt. Vernon-Enola is on Thursday, October 19th in Brady-Hipp Arena. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Mt. Vernon. This game will be played at home starting with the junior girls tipping off at 6:00 p.m. We hope you will come out and support all of our teams!


Congratulations to West Side Senior, Brooke Harper, on her acceptance into the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville! Way to go, Brooke!


West Side School will dismiss at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19th for parent conferences. Parent conferences will be held from 3-7 p.m.


West Side FFA would like to thank Smith Farms for delivering the mums and helping West Side FFA have a successful fundraiser!


West Side 6th graders recently visited White River Health System for a career awareness field trip. Students were able to visit the hospital's lab, radiology department, as well as the in-patient rehabilitation department. They were also able to speak with several healthcare workers including the dietitian.







Mrs. Cherie's Art classes have been busy this year! K-2 has learned about elements of landscape with layered landscapes. 3rd & 4th grade learned about analogous colors and printmaking with printed mountains; while 5th & 6th grade completed graphite zentangle animal drawings while learning about value and patterns.
