Teacher Name- Savanna Goforth
How many years have you been teaching/in education? 3 years
Where did you graduate high school from? Searcy High
What was your favorite subject in High School? Spanish
Why did you become a teacher? I had very few teachers that built relationships with students beyond grades. I want to show students that I care about ALL aspects of their lives. They need someone to give them the time they deserve.
What is your favorite part of teaching at West Side? I love how small the school is. Everyone has a close relationship with everyone else.
What are your favorite characteristics in your students? Their ability to constantly make me laugh, even on a bad day.
What are your hobbies outside of school? I like to play with my two dogs and watch TV with my husband.
Who is your biggest role model? My mama and daddy. I've never met two people who care more about their family. I hope I can be half as good of a parent as they have always been.
What is your favorite art to create? I like to draw tiny pictures and cartoons.

While students in Grades 7-10 will be taking interim ACT Aspire tests on Tuesday and Wednesday, special plans have been made for juniors and seniors.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Cornett, counselor, has “adulting” activities planned for these students including how to change a tire and check oil in a vehicle, the dangers of credit cards, what to do if getting pulled over by a policeman, and an overview of taxes.
On Wednesday, Ms. Rousseau, career coach, will be working with juniors and seniors on a high school resume and interviewing skills. Fun games have been planned as well!
As we work to make sure our students are academically ready for life beyond high school, please support our attempt to make sure that they are ready to step into adulthood with the skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. #EagleSpirit #WatchUsSoar
