Good Morning West Side Elementary!
This is Amy Gentry and I wanted to remind you about our first pee wee basketball game and little dribbler performance this Saturday in the old gym.
Guy does not have a 4th grade girls team and will not have enough 5th grade girls to play this weekend. So the order and times are:
9:00 start will be 4th grade boys
around 9:45 will be 5th grade boys
(k-1) little dribblers will perform (make sure the little dribblers are there by 10:00)
around 10:30 will be the 6th grade girls following will be the (2nd and 3rd grade little dribblers- make sure they are there by 11)
and last will be the 6th grade boys around 11:15
Also parents, please make sure your child does not wear their uniform before or after the game unless they are wearing something that covers the uniform.

Where did you graduate high school? Springhill High School in Louisiana.
Why did you become a teacher? I had an Aunt that had Down Syndrome, so I started out as a Special Education teacher before I became a Principal.
What is your favorite part of teaching at West Side High School? Being around students and working with a great instructional team.
What is your favorite characteristic in your students? Honesty.
What are your hobbies outside of school? Reading and spending time with my family.
Who is your biggest role model and why? David Campell, because he was my first principal and I learned a lot about education from him.
What is your favorite animal? Chickens!

This is a reminder about the Thanksgiving Lunch we will be having on Thursday November 21. If you want to come eat with your child on this day you MUST have your form and money turned in by this Thursday, November 14th. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Where did you graduate high school? Westside in Jonesboro.
What was your favorite subject in high school? English.
Why did you become a teacher? Wanted to make a change in students' current lives and futures, through music.
What is your favorite part about teaching at West Side? Seeing students achieve something new on their instruments.
What is your favorite characteristic in your students? When students are hard workers and push themselves when they run into a challenge.
What are your hobbies outside of school? Like to read, play the flute, and talk to friends.
Who is your biggest role model and why? As a college student, the biggest role model was, Dr. Laboritz. She is such a strong, smart woman in her field.
What made you want to join band in middle school? My older sister was in the band so I thought I would try it out. I actually knew in middle school that teaching music is what I wanted to do in the future!

The West Side Cross Country teams competed in the 1A/2A 5 District Tournament on Monday. West Side's Junior boys finished Runner-Up as team with Dax Hipp 2nd and Carson Stark 3rd. In the Junior Girl's Division, Kadence Dilks finished 6th and McKenna Knapp 9th. James Davis finished 7th in the Senior Boys division. The Senior Girl's finished Runner-Up as a team with Ashtyn Knapp finishing 3rd, Haley Gentry 4th, Alex Southerland 9th, and Madison Bailey 10th.
