This post is to make students, parents, and guardians aware of a newly adopted board policy that goes into effect today, October 1. The policy was adopted by the board on September 28.
Due to the overwhelming amount of time that is being spent by teachers after regular school hours preparing for lessons both in person and virtually, delivering lessons both in person and virtually and assessing student performance both in person and virtually teachers will not be expected to correspond with students, parents or guardians after 3:30 each day. We understand that while district employees are concerned with the well being of our students, they also have families of their own at home that should not be neglected. Any questions you may have for teachers may still be submitted at your leisure, just be aware to not anticipate getting responses after 3:30 each day. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Mrs. Layne's third graders are working hard on sorting equal groups with the matching multiplication equation and the matching product.

Back-to Back State Champions
West Side's girls golf team won the Class 1A state title today, the second straight year and fifth time in history -- more than any other girls team for a Class 1A school. The match was held at Glenwood Country Club in Glenwood.
The scores:
Kendra Harness 82, medalist (low score among all players) second year in a row,
Haley Gentry 89, medalist runner-up,
Kortnee Finch 97, and
Emma Johnson 105.
Kendra, Haley, and Kortnee qualified for the Golf Overall match -- for the second year in a row -- which features Arkansas' best golfers from all classifications. Those three and Emma qualified as All-State golfers.
