West Side boys golf finished 4th yesterday, with the Lady Eagles claiming 2nd. Kendra Harness finished as medalist with two other Eagles in the top ten.


West Side Elementary's super hero aides have been busy getting things ready for elementary DIBELS!



Summerlee is enjoying the balance beam in Mrs. Amy's obstacle course for PE.


The West Side XC teams represented West Side in the Josh Park Memorial XC Meet on Tuesday. The teams represented well with Haley Gentry finishing in 4th place. Way to go Eagles!

If your student has not had a vaccine since turning 11 or 16, then they are in need of a vaccine for school attendance. Virtual learning students must also have all required vaccines. It is state law for students to have a current immunization record.

8th grader, Logan Fife, won big at the 2020 Cleburne County Fair!
He brought home two first place prizes as well as showmanship, Grand Champion Breeding, and Supreme Breeding Goat! Congratulations, Logan!



K-2 students are learning about acids and bases in enrichment class!


Student Council will be collecting non-perishable items for Louisiana hurricane victims next week. Drop off is at the High School office or Mrs. Holly Shaw's room.


The West Side Eagles Tennis Team will host Mountain View today at 3:30 today. Attendance to the event is encouraged; however, all attending must follow the required social distancing guidelines. As required, West Side School District has created a plan for tennis matches at our tennis facility. Here are a few helpful reminders from that plan before coming out to the courts today.
Standing & Chair Seating: 1 person per each clearly divided concrete section along the sides of the court spaced at least 6 feet apart at opposite sides of each division unless members of the same household family.
Face Coverings: Are required for all persons except for children under the age of 10, should remain in place at all times, and only be removed briefly for consumption of food or beverage.
Restrooms/ Sanitation: Maximum of two persons in restrooms at a time to allow for social distancing. Restrooms and frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected as needed during the event. Cones and/or markers will be used as needed to ensure 6ft social distancing while in lines.
Concessions: No concessions will be provided.
Parking/ Entrance/ Exit: All attendees must park in the softball/ baseball parking area and must enter and exit through the softball/baseball entrance only. The paved parking area in front of the courts will not be used. Cones and/or markers will be used to ensure 6 feet social distancing while in lines.
Notice to Public: Signs will be posted at the entrance advising the public according to ADH requirements. Compliance of the directives must be followed by attendees and participants at all times.

Girls Golf won 1st again at Tannenbaum, with Kendra Harness taking 1st and Haley, Emma, & Kortnee also finishing in the top 4. West Side boys also took 1st! Travis Gentry won 2nd with Malachi & Brenton tying for 4th. Ashton & Asa also finished in the top 10! Way to go Eagles


We Remember.

Haley Gentry finished 2nd yesterday behind teammate Kendra Harness for the Lady Eagles twentieth consecutive win of the year! The girls finished first against Shirley this week, with the top five places at Mt. Ranch. Malachi Miller finished first for the boys who placed third.

Just a reminder, in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our staff and student body we are asking all parents/guardians, of students who will be in attendance on-site, and all employees to notify our designated Point of Contact (POC) immediately when the following occurs:
Someone in the household has tested positive for COVID-19.
Someone in the household has been identified as a Close Contact to a positive case of COVID-19 and is requiring quarantine and/or recommended to be tested for COVID-19.
Students attending on-site and employees who are being tested for COVID-19...If symptomatic, students/staff should remain in quarantine as directed by ADH

Tennis season is here! West Side competed against Academics Plus and Shirley today at Fairfield Bay.



In celebration of Constitution Day on Thursday, September 17th, we are wearing red, white, and blue at West Side School! Let's have some fun and show some patriotism for our country !

6th graders in Mrs. Robin's class completed the "tallest tower challenge" in connection with their design thinking lessons in class. The challenge was to see who could build the tallest structure that would support an observation deck!
