Mrs. Tonya's class enjoyed the sunshine during the 'junior olympics" with the GT students. Billy Williams won 1st place in the soccer kicks hitting all 7 of his balls through the goal! Cole Morrow placed second, and Isla Brewer was third. In noodle fencing, Mason Shue won first place, Elisabeth Carlton won second place, and third place went to Hunter Martindale.

It is National School Counseling Week and West Side has two of the best! We are truly blessed to have Mrs. Terri Cornett as our high school counselor and Mrs. Orene Morgan as our elementary counselor. Thank you two ladies for all that you do for our school and kiddos!

Mrs. Traci has had several roles in her fifteen years at the district. She is currently the head of our dyslexia, RTI, and SOAR programs. She enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, and playing with her dogs as well as crocheting and spending time with her family. West Side is lucky to have Mrs. Traci!

Mrs. Tori's & Tabatha's Kindergarten students had lots of fun with the "junior olympics" the 3rd-6th grade GT students had with them. As a culminating activity for their Ancient Greece unit, the 3rd-6th grade GT students are holding "junior olympics" for the K-2 students this week. K-2 students combined previous lessons about primary and secondary colors and magnets to create magnetic painting masterpieces in Mrs. Teresa's enrichment class. Pictured are second graders, Waverly Verser and Madison Stevens.

Amberlea received the Star Student Award in Mrs. Jennifer's second grade for January. The character word for the month was integrity. SRO Crispell presented Amberlea with a certificate and goodie bag.

West Side School will have a virtual Title I planning meeting with elementary principal, James Housdan, and high school principal, Matt Irwin, on Tuesday, February 2nd @ 5:00. A link will be sent out prior to the meeting for anyone who would like to attend this virtual meeting.

A BIG night for West Side Athletics! Three new 1A State Title Banners were unveiled at the Brady-Hipp Arena as athletes and their coaches were presented with their State Championship Rings! Congratulations to all!
