National School Counseling Week
We took time today to honor Mrs. Amanda Gentry and show her our appreciation for all of the things she does for our students and our school. Mrs. Gentry is in year 2 in her role as the West Side High School Counselor. She is married to Gary Gentry and has two beautiful daughters, Lainee, grade 8, and Macy, grade 6.
Mrs. Gentry has done a tremendous job working with our Seniors this year to get them prepared for graduation and beyond, helping them with scholarship and college applications, checking up on grades, and heading up graduation plans. She always makes herself available to stuents who need to visit with her. She has helped me so much this year as well! Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Gentry!

West Side High School is having a little competition to see who can have the best attendance each month. The January winner for best attendance at 93.86% was the Senior class!! We are so proud of them because it can sometimes be difficult to get them all to school when Senioritis sets in. They are great role models for the rest of the students!
7th grade came in at a close 2nd with 93.64% and 9th grade at 93.2%. ALL of our grade levels were in the 90's! Thank you parents as well for all of your help ensuring students are at school.
