Mrs. Teresa's 5th & 6th grade GT students made magnetic slime for the second grade to play with as part of their science lessons about magnets.




The hits keep coming for West Side eSports as the Splatoon 3 team defeated Searcy High School, 3-0, on Tuesday. Pictured, left to right, Maggie Ott, Caleb Cross, Emily Clark and Kolby Lockard.

The West Side eSports Mario Kart team has earned a No. 6 overall ranking in the latest AAA standings, the highest ranking ever achieved in the school's short program history. The "Turtle Tyrants" are 5-1 and face a huge match Thursday against No. 7-ranked Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (Hot Springs).
West Side is powered by starters Kolby Lockard, Jordan Ragsdale, Caleb Cross and Maggie Ott, but has received big contributions from bench players like William Cantafio and Elijah Strain.
The Arkansas AAA Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe League is made up of 59 teams and there are no classifications based on school size.

The Book Fair is at West Side this week! Students can shop during school this week and parents can stop by today until 5 pm!

Mrs. Sonya Cole's All-Star Students find joy in the simplest things, even blowing kleenex off faces! We are so happy to have these girls as part of our Eagle family!

Parents, please use these locations when dropping off students before school or afterschool pickup. No parents, other than preschool parents, should be south of the gymnasiums where buses load and unload.

As part of our Red Ribbon Week activities high school students presented the Farm to You Program to teach about healthy choices. Farm to You is available from the U or A Home Extension Programs.


West Side picture retakes and fall sports photos will be taken next Friday, November 10. Fall sports include cheer, basketball, golf, tennis and cross country. Order forms will be sent home with athletes early next week. Athletes will need their uniforms.

Please make plans to attend our Veterans Program on Friday, November 10th at 6 pm in the cafeteria. Our local Girls Scout Troop, Eagle Choir, and GT students will be paying tribute to all veterans!

Mrs. Cherie's elementary art club created felt monsters by designing, gluing on features, and then sewing their creative creatures together. What a fun project!
