On-campus Grade 7-11 students and Grade 7-8 virtual High school students have only semester exams, and those only if they are not exempt. Students taking exams should attend campus Tuesday, Wednesday or both only for the exams they are required to take. The testing schedule:

Mrs. Fonda has been the superintendent's secretary at West Side for over 25 years! When she isn't at West Side, Fonday enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of her cows, chickens and garden, and planting flowers. Fonda, you are one in a million and we have been blessed to have you at our school!

WSHS students learned today if they are exempt from semester exams. Those who are exempt from all exams are finished with the year. Friday is a virtual day when only students taking online exams or those needing extra exam review should attend. Monday is a review day when students taking exams must attend the periods of their exams. Likewise on exam days, students must attend only the time of day for their exams.

EAST Applications were made available today for next year's 3rd-6th grade. There was an assembly today to explain EAST. Students had an opportunity to pick up an application if they wanted to apply. If your child is interested in applying for EAST for the 2021-2022 school year, they must have the application turned in by the deadline on Wednesday, May 26th at 3:00 p.m.
Late applications will not be accepted. There are only 15 slots available for the 3rd/4th EAST and 15 slots available for the 5th/6th EAST. Detailed instructions are included in the application.

Mrs. Cherie's Elementary Art Club recently had their last meeting for the year. The kids are showing off their sock creatures! What a fun time these kids have had this year!

Don't forget to stop and visit the West Side Art Show at Greers Ferry City Hall. The art show will be open to the public through Thursday, May 20th, from 10:00-4:00. There will be an open house today from 3:00-4:00.

Thursday, May 27th is the last day of school at West Side School and students will be dismissed at 12:00. Have a wonderful and safe summer!

The Arkansas Rent Relief Program is available for qualifying families that are struggling to pay rent or utilities due to the Covid pandemic. See the flyer for more information.

Congratulations to Kirby Cothren, Ruston Holt, Travis Gentry, and Dax Hipp for placing 1st in Parliamentary Procedure at the State FBLA Leadership Conference.


West Side High School would like to thank some local businesses and families for providing West Side Seniors with local scholarships!
The FL Davis Memorial Scholarship, Tommy Smith Memorial Scholarship, and Sam Williams' Masonic Lodge Scholarship have been given to seniors for many years, and this year Nichols Realty Express is adding a new local scholarship. Randall Nichols, Principal Broker of Nichols Realty Express, and his wife Heather recently announced their wish to support West Side students by offering a generous scholarship for graduating seniors of West Side School. A huge thank you to all of these families and businesses for supporting our students in their next steps in life!
