
Yesterday's tennis match involving Conway Christian, Shirley & Viola -- which was rained out -- will be completed September 24 during the District Playoffs at Fairfield Bay.

The West Side Basketball program is looking for business or people interested in running an advertisement on the score table screen for the 21-22 season. Your ad will be displayed throughout any regular season, high school, home game. Prices are $250 for the first year and $200 for any year after.

West Side Ladies Golf ended their season with a first place win at Turkey Mountain this week. Kendra Harness claimed the top spot for the 10th time this year! Kortnee Finch followed in 3rd with fellow senior, Emma Johnson, in 5th. These three seniors finished their West Side match Career with a 31-2 record! Congratulation ladies on a tremendous season!

The West Side XC teams competed in the annual Josh Park Meet on Tuesday. The Eagles competed well with over 1000 runners total. Lainee Gentry finished 24 out of over 240 junior girl runners.

PreK-12 Picture Day is tomorrow + senior cap-and-gown and portraits for the composite. SR girls need to wear a tank top, SR boys, a plain white T-shirt. Seniors will get proofs with poses to order in about 3 weeks. SR sports banner piks will also be taken, so senior athletes need a uniform of choice

Underclassmen will be taking assessments Monday and Tuesday morning until 11:25 a.m. this week. Seniors are not required to be on campus until 5th Period at 11:30 a.m., although they may attend to stay current in concurrent credit courses.

Beginning Monday, West Side bus riders will load and unload at the new cafetorium, and parents of Preschool students will drop off and pick up students on the south side of the campus at designated times. The accompanying map also shows the K-2, 3-6, and 7-12 drop-off/pickup locations. Note that the south drive on the campus is one way at all times. Only buses, Preschool parents, and staff are allowed south of the Gathright Gym and Brady-Hipp Arena.


West Side Picture Day is Wednesday, September 15. Please send the order form and payment with your student on Picture Day. Seniors will take cap and gown pictures and portraits for the composite on that day. Senior girls need to wear a tank top and senior boys need to wear a plain white tee-shirt. Seniors will then receive an order form in about three weeks with different poses to choose from. Pictures for senior sports banners will also be taken, so senior athletes will need to bring a uniform of their choice.

West Side Ladies Golf placed 1st out of 8 schools this week at Mtn. Ranch. Kendra Harness and Emma Johnson tied for 1st place overall and Max Gipson finished 4th for the boys. Boys golf finished 3rd overall out of 8 schools. Pictured is senior, Asa Carr.

Julie Wallace, co-principal of Quitman Public Schools, works with the West Side District Guiding Coalition during a training session on Thursday. Wallace is a practitioner of the PLC Project and works with Solution Tree, a company known nationwide for helping schools transform culture and achievement. Members of the Guiding Coalition who be leading the PLC process at West Side are superintendent Dr. Brandi Wallace, high school principal Sarah Shannon, elementary principal James Housdan, instructional facilitator Audra Stewart, dyslexia coordinator Debbie Brown, curriculum coordinator Matt Irwin, and teachers Stacy Akers, Devin Carr, Timothy Hardin, Debbie Smith, Sonjia Sutterfield, and Ricki Stevens.
