The West Side Junior Eagles staged a repeat performance of last week, winning top slot in the 1/2/3A school division on their home turf in the West Side Invitational Tournament on Tuesday, September 18. Once again, Travis Gentry led his fellow teammates by crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 9:11.16. Preston Story finished the 3200 meter race in fifth place, timed at 9:23.61. Finishing in the top twenty of 107 runners in their division were Braydon Turner (12), Asa Carr (14), Brenton Knapp (15), Carson Stark (16) and Dax Hipp (19).
Eighty-eight girls competed in the junior girls 1/2/3A division. Seventh grader Kadence Dilks led the Junior Lady Eagles, finishing 17th with a time of 12:10.97. The team placed fourth in their division.
In the senior girls 1/2/3A division, Haley Gentry turned in another stellar performance of 21:17.42 and finished second. Crossing the finish line in ninth place was Alex Southerland, who clocked in at 24:04.67.
Dawson Inzer, the lone West Side senior boy, completed the course in 23:12.88
