Parents of West Side students are asked to check with the County Health Unit or family physician to make sure their children's shots are up to date.
First-grade students must have 2 doses of Hepatitis A vaccine. Also, students entering preschool and kindergarten must be sure their records are up to date prior to the first day of school. This includes students receiving their 4 year old vaccines.
Students age 11 on or before September 1 are required to have a Tdap vaccine.
Students entering 7th grade must have their first dose of MCV4 (meningitis) vaccine before school starts.
All students who turn 16 years of age before September 1 must receive their second dose of MCV4 after their 16th birthday.
By law, any student who has not had the required shots or exemption paperwork on file at the school by the deadline cannot be permitted to attend. Absences due to lack of immunizations will not be excused. Students who will be learning virtually this year will also have to have an up to date shot record.
