On Friday evening, auditions for Junior High All-Region Band were held at Russellville Junior High School. Madison Hooten participated in the auditions and placed 26th out of well over 100 other students who auditioned on clarinet.
Fifty-two students in grades 7-9 earned seats in the two bands, so Madison is 26th chair in the "First" band. They, along with all others selected, will meet to rehearse this coming Friday and Saturday at the Russellville High School Performing Arts Center. They will then perform a concert at its conclusion on Saturday afternoon.
Our region consists of a number of much larger schools, many of which have some of the finest band programs in Arkansas. Needless to say, this is a remarkable achievement for Madison and an honor for the school.
