West Side is pleased to host the Class 1A Region 3 Baseball and Softball Tournaments on Thursday through Saturday. Softball teams qualifying for regional play are Abundant Life, Bradford, Brinkley, Concord, Midland, Mount Vernon-Enola, Sacred Heart, and West Side. Baseball teams qualifying for regional play are Abundant Life, Bradford, Brinkley, Midland, Mount Vernon-Enola, Sacred Heart, West Side, and Wonderview.

The price of admission, set by the Arkansas Activities Association, is $5 for adults and children. AAA passes are accepted with accompanying photo identification.

West Side’s softball team plays Bradford at 10 a.m. Thursday; the baseball team plays Brinkley at 3 p.m. Thursday. Teams that win an opening round game qualify for the state tournament next week at Taylor, which culminates at UA Bogle Park for softball and UA Baum Stadium for baseball.

In regional play at West Side, Friday is the semifinal round and Saturday sees the championship games, along with a seeding game for 3rd and 4th place.

With weather forecasts calling for rain later in the week, fans who don’t have the West Side School District mobile app are asked to visit the district Live Feed, Twitter, Facebook page to see the latest information about playing times. The Arkansas Activities Association asks host schools to make decisions on game day as late as possible about rescheduling games.
